A FEW KIND WORDS FROM PEOPLE I'VE HAD THE PLEASURE TO WORK WITH…

  • “Al is a brilliant designer, a masterful entrepreneurial thinker with a wealth of professional experience across creative projects and technical builds. Her rare hybrid background of design and tech is an absolute gift to the team and to every client that she interacts with.”

“You're such a warm, thoughtful, intelligent, and energetic person, and you bring that to your team and to our interactions.”

  • “Al is incredibly gifted, so much so that she makes complex work seem effortless.”

“Facing real and sometimes harsh feedback with grace and humility. Being willing to walk through the fire with us.”

“Al is a very gifted creative, designer, technologist and futurist. She is innovative, inspired, talented and ahead of industry trends - in all reality, the truest qualities of a trendsetter.”

  • “Alex always has a big smile and manages to give off optimistic vibes, even though I know she must be under a lot of pressure and stress at times! She's always well-spoken in meetings with clients, and is a great face for the company. I appreciate her sense of humor! Alex always has something insightful to share when I ask for advice and makes time for me, even though I know she has a lot of other responsibilities and tasks demanding her time.”

  • “Al is, simply put, a wonderful boss, colleague, and friend. She's passionate about the team, the work we put out, and strives to be better, either in execution or in the expression of our shared values through our work. I feel as though she takes feedback and concerns seriously.”

“I really adore Al and she should be protected at all costs.”

  • “Al is arguably the most approachable and personable of our leaders, and an excellent presenter. She puts others at ease, builds relationships easily, and holds herself accountable. She's attuned to diversity and inclusion, something other leaders have struggled with, and advocates for employees on all fronts. I love the balance that Al brings to the leadership table, and the way she challenges thinking. She's got such a good head on her shoulders, and can often spot the thing that everyone else has missed. She's great at delivering feedback and being transparent and open with her team.”

  • “There is always a sense that when Alex is leading something everything is going to be ok.”

“Al is incredibly good at keeping all things in perspective. She sees so much from a 10,000 ft view and is great at trying to keep the ball rolling on a lot of initiatives, internal or for clients. It's very inspiring leadership.”

“Facing real and sometimes harsh feedback with grace and humility. Being willing to walk through the fire with us.”

  • "She is an amazing presenter, communicator, and shares her thoughtful philosophy around considered design in an easy and accessible way. She leads the team thoughtfully, empathetically, and with grace, humor, and inclusion. The team loves each other and that example comes from the top. She is a pleasure to work with and adds to every professional relationship she has in both hemispheres."

"The most amazing eye for good design — details inside of details, details behind details, choices that I can't quite understand how/why your brain went there but it did."

  • "Being relentlessly curious with questions about our process and outputs. It's been great having a reflective voice during the engagement so that we have a chance to pivot and adapt rather than just at retros."

"You're still the best manager I've had in my career and that means a lot. I've been treated very terribly at most workplaces prior to working with you, and you really set a different precedent for how people in leadership roles can still be kind and human while demanding the best from you. So thank you for that – it hasn't gone unnoticed."

  • "You make work that inspires people. That inspires me. Whatever it is about what you do my brain is the socket and you are the plug."

"A big ol’ thank you for helping me grow so much as both a designer and person. I have so much respect for the incredible effort you put into everything that you do.  There’s been such an abundance of learning, encouragement, and kindness. It’s been my good fortune to have been part of such a talented and humble team."

  • "Seeing people's potential clearly! I really admire Al's decision to take on our newest hire, and mentor her in UX design basically from the ground up. As Al predicted, she is killing it. Our leadership team making calls like that on new hires is exactly how JM design unicorns are forged. It's a risk, but Al tends to make sure they pay off. You really love to see it."

"Big fan of your mentorship style for any member of the team."

  • “Being a lovely, empathetic, and sharp-as-knives leader.”

“She is an amazing presenter, communicator, and shares her thoughtful philosophy around considered design in an easy and accessible way. She leads the team thoughtfully, empathetically, and with grace, humor, and inclusion. The team loves each other and that example comes from the top. She is a pleasure to work with and adds to every professional relationship she has in both hemispheres.”
